KARACHI: The Supreme Court verdict in Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification case also applies on Faryal Talpur and others for hiding their work permit (Iqama), stated the lawyer of the petitioner, who has challenged the eligibility of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders.

According to details, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday was hearing a case filed against Faryal Talpur, Manzoor Wasan, Sohail Anwar Siyal and other PPP leaders for not disclosing their work permit (Iqama) in nomination papers of General Elections 2018.

As the hearing went underway, petitioner’s legal counsel recalled the apex court’s ruling in the disqualification case of the former premier and maintained that the foreign work permit was the key reason behind the ouster of Nawaz not only as the chief executive of the state but also as a party head of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz. “On the same ground, the SC verdict, pertaining to hiding Iqama, is also applicable on the PPP leaders,” he maintained.

The petitioner sought disqualification of the aforementioned PPP leaders from the assembly.

The high court has summoned all documents as petitioner’s counsel concluded his arguments today.

In the next hearing, the SHC has ordered PPP’s lawyer Farooq H. Naek to present his arguments in the case.

The case hearing was adjourned until February 15.

Last year, a petition had been filed in the Sindh High Court against the PPP bigwigs including Faryal Talpur, Manzoor Wasan, Nasir Hussain Shah, Sohail Anwar Siyal and others for allegedly holding work permits of a foreign country and not disclosing it in their nomination papers for elections.

KARACHI: Export Industry owners facing adversity as they are unable to deliver their export orders due to gas load shedding and low pressure in Karachi, ARY News reported on Monday. As per details, gas crises have intensified in several parts of the metropolis, as winter began which is causing hurdles for the domestic and industrial units. President Site Association Saleem Parekh has said they are facing huge lose due to gas load shedding and low pressure in the city. “Export session is being badly affected, we are unable to deliver orders as Christmas is right on the corner,” said Saleem Parekh.
